Hello all! Let me introduce myself. My name is Stephanie, owner, founder and adventure guide here at Stevie Waters.
I grew up in a farming village on the western shores of Lake Michigan, the same size as Bayfield, WI. Growing up in rural Wisconsin, the only thing I often thought about was the day I would leave. That day came and I found myself moving around the country until finding home in Breckenridge, Colorado for nearly a decade. There, I found myself and most certainly found my love for spending every second possible in the outdoors. The amazing part was how I found my way back.
As much as I loved the mountains, the waves and the water were something I never stopped thinking about. Four years ago when I just happened to be home helping my grandparents, I found a post on the internet hiring for local sea kayak guides. At this point in time, I truly had no idea how to navigate my way around a kayak but I certainly knew my love for the outdoors. I sent it full force into that first summer. Learning, growing and developing all the skills I needed to have a successful season on the shores of Lake Superior. I quickly fell in love with a whole new way to enjoy the water. A way that I could so easily share my passion for the outdoors with others and watch that light spread like wild fire.
Fast forward to this exact moment in time when I was blessed with the opportunity of a lifetime and granted a permit to guide in the Apostle Island National Lakeshore. And just like that, Stevie Waters was born. Combining all of the knowledge and my 1,000s of hours along this shoreline and I can finally gift each and every one of you the opportunity to see world renowned sea caves and explore islands that are dedicated wilderness in a park that still feels so remote and untouched, unlike most others.
